Frequently Asked Questions

1.When would I use a “short kit”?

Answer:  Some aftermarket digital dash manufacturers provide a set of wires with their gauge system.  However, those wires still requires splice/connecting to the OEM wires that are behind the OEM connectors.    The short kit serves those customers who do no need the full length harness but still want to have direct connection to the OEM connectors.

2.Will you be providing kits for other vehicles, makes, and models?

Answer:   YES!   While we started with the Foxbody Mustang kits, we have a range of products in development that will serve Ford/GM/Dodge/Jeep as well as others.    Make sure to follow us on Newrad Solutions Instagram page and subscribe to our Youtube channel to know when we release new vehicle kits.

3.What vehicles can use the Ford 14-pin universal kit?

Answer:  While not a full listing, the 1987-1991 Ford Bronco, and F150/250/350 trucks, and the 1983-1994 Ford Ranger/Bronco II use the same gauge cluster connectors as the Foxbody Mustang.   We will release a “short” universal kit soon.   Because of the large number of variations with these vehicle clusters and gas vs diesel wiring differences, all wires are populated in these kits to ensure all the 1987-1991 Ford Bronco and F150/250/350 trucks, and 1983-1994 Ranger/Bronco II customers can use the kit with confidence.   Simply trim the unused wires and cover with 3/32” shrink tubing or tape.

4. Does your kit use the “resistor” you show in the video for the Mustang for my Holley Pro dash?

Answer: No. Most manufacturers provide the resistor for 3G alternators in the kit. The Holley Pro dashes are generic and don’t come with the alternator charging resistor. You can source them from Amazon, Digi-key, etc. The OEM Ford resistor was 510 ohm.
